On December 5, 6, & 7, 2008, Josh Williams was honored to get to play and sing with two of his heroes: Ron Block and Alison Krauss.
The three played and sang as a trio for the “Successful Christian Living Ministries Retreat in Talladega, Alabama.”
When Josh was asked about the experience, after returning to Nashville on December 7th, he said," I have admired both of these people for years, as great musicians, singers, and writers, but getting to work closely with them was quite a thrill for me. I had admired Ron for his musicianship, and song writing, but this past weekend I also realized that he is one of the finest Christian gentlemen I've ever met. Where Alison is concerned, I've loved her playing and singing for years, and have always agreed with the many writers and DJs when they referred to her beautiful voice as Angelic. But I don't think I really ever understood the full depth of that statement until I was standing next to her singing the hymns we sang in Alabama. I actually felt like I was singing with a genuine Angel."
This week, Josh has just finished playing the "Pick One All-Star Jam tour" and is currently. In the studio putting the final touches on mixing his third CD for Pinecastle Records, which should be released later this year. Folks who have heard the ruffs of this new project say it is by far the best Josh Williams work yet. This latest project will feature guest appearances by Tony Rice, Carl Jackson, Greg Cahill, Mickey Harris, Doug Jernigan, Tony Creasman, Tina Adair, Kenny Ingram, Randy Kohrs, Greg Blaylock, Aaron McDaris, Stuart Duncan, Jason Carter, and Rhonda Vincent.
Josh Williams is also currently adding dates for his new "Josh Williams Band" for 2009 and 2010, through Roe Entertainment, as well as accepting new material for the first ever "Josh Williams Band" recording to be released in 2010.
