Josh Williams Accepts 2008 SPBGMA Guitar Performer Of The Year Award

Congratulations to Josh Williams on his fourth consecutive “Guitar Performer of the Year” award from SPBGMA, on Sunday February 3, 2008. All of us in the Josh Williams support team are very “Proud of you, and Proud for you!”

Because so many of you requested it by telephone and email, here is Josh’s acceptance speech:

“Thank you all for this award. This makes four of these for me, and I’m just as stunned by this one as I was by the first one. I need to thank some wonderful folks if you will bear with me. I thank God for this and all his blessings, I want to thank my Mom and my Dad, who made me practice a few times as I was growing up, but usually simply said, “Josh, if you are not going to put that thing up, at least go into your room and close the door so we can get some rest.”

I want to thank my lovely girlfriend “Jenny”, and her family for their love and support, and there is no way I could stand up here and accept this award without thanking Miss Rhonda Vincent, for taking me all over this country and beyond as a member of the Rage, to play with some of the finest musicians I’ve ever seen in Kenny Ingram, Mickey Harris, and Hunter Berry, and to Mr. Yogi Bare for getting us around safely for four long years in the Martha White Bluegrass Express. Again, thank you all very much for this honor.”
