The annual Murray State University-WKMS, "Music from A Front Porch" Fund Raiser Concert, this year featuring the Peter Rowan/Tony Rice Quartet, became the perfect forum for Josh Williams, appearing there as a special guest, to announce the lineup, to date, of his new Bluegrass band. The audience of more than 1,000 people responded very favorably as western Kentucky native Josh Williams, multi award winning, former guitarist for Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, introduced his first three sidemen. They will begin actively touring this spring and summer as “The Josh Williams Band”.
Joining Josh in this new venture will be: former Special Consensus co-alumnus, and close friend Tim Dishman on bass, close boyhood friends, Clayton Campbell, on fiddle and banjoist, Jason McKendree, both western Kentucky natives. One or two more member announcements are expected prior to the new band making its debut appearance at Nashville's world famous "Station Inn”, on February 23, 2008.
